Program Features

Healthcare IT students
  • The entire certificate program is offered online to accommodate the busy schedules of working adults;
  • Courses are 7 weeks long and coursework is paced in week-long modules.
  • Courses are asynchronous, which means you can log on and work at your own pace at any hour of the day.
  • Each course involves reading, group discussion (asynchronous) and independent learning activities. We estimate a time investment by students of about 5-8 hours per week.
  • Students receive a grade of Pass or Incomplete (Non-Pass) based on submission of completed assignments and active participation in online discussion postings.
  • Students who successfully complete the program requirements will earn their Healthcare IT Certificate.
  • Each course has been approved for up to 3.0 continuing education (CE) hours for use in fulfilling the continuing education requirements of the Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) or the Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS) of the Healthcare Information & Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
